The above photo was taken during a recent day trip to Key West with Nikki and Misael.
According to the photo geotag, I took this picture somewhere between the Upper Sugarloaf Key and the Lower Sugarloaf Key.

A New Driver…
I’ve always been the driver when we explored the Florida Keys but, this time, we changed it up and Nikki drove her car.
Leaving my cozy little home on wheels at the campground felt strange but it was also nice not having to drive.
It was my first time through the Florida Keys in the passenger seat!
I would not have guessed being in the passenger seat would make a difference… but it was almost like seeing the Keys for the first time!
Everything Seemed Different…
Normally, I have a good idea what town we just passed and what’s down the road but, from the passenger seat, everything looked and felt different.
Being in the passenger seat allowed me to gaze at the scenery as long as I liked rather than having to keep my eyes on the road.
I was so busy looking out the window that I didn’t realize we’d reached the 7 Mile Bridge in the Lower Keys.
My mind raced as I secretly tried to figure out if this was indeed the 7 Mile Bridge.
As I tried to confirm where we were… I almost missed Fred The Tree!

Fred The Tree resides on the old 7 Mile Bridge – which runs parallel to the new, modern 7 Mile Bridge.
The old bridge is no longer accessible to vehicular traffic, however, parts of the bridge are open to pedestrians and cyclists.
I believe the part where Fred resides is closed off entirely. When it’s time to decorate Fred for Christmas or other events, I’ve seen the Local’s get to him by boats and ladders.
Fred has grown a lot since I first met him – 8 years ago. He also has his own Facebook page!
The Ocean Views Mesmerize…
When it comes to the Florida Keys, I could sit and look out into the blue abyss for hours on end, soaking up the sun as the ocean breeze rolls across my face.
Parting Thought…
Sometimes the best way to gain a new perspective is to simply change seats.

Fred the tree looks lovely with that awesome back ground. It’s amazing how mother nature finds any little crack to grow something beautiful!

It sure is! A good quote for Fred would be “Bloom where you’re planted” 😊🌻
