A Free Coffee Sample Turns Into A One-way Ticket To The Throne

If you have Facebook you most likely know that you can have it show your posts from prior years (ie: Facebook Memories).

I don’t do much on Facebook these days but I enjoy looking back at my Facebook memories.

Sometimes those memories spark ideas to write about… and… todays story is about a Starbucks mis-adventure that happened last year (June 2023).

Free Samples Are Hard To Resist…

In the drive-thru lane at Starbucks, an Employee was standing at the side of the lane with free samples of the new Oleato coffee.

I assumed they were pushing the new drink hard because she was standing in a spot where no one could turn around and avoid her.

The sample cups looked to be about 3 or 4 ounces worth of Oleato.

I politely declined a free sample – explaining I’m allergic to milk. The Employee smiled and said she just happened to put an oatmilk version on her tray.

Due to food allergies, I don’t often get to say “yes” to a free sample… so I decided to give it a try.

If Youโ€™ve Heard Of The Oleato Coffee…

You know it’s infused with olive oil.

It tasted ok but the olive oil lingers.

The lingering effect of an oil coated tongue and mouth is not easy to forget!

There Were Also Some Unexpected After Effects…

A while later, there were some harsh happenings going on that made me very thankful I have a porta-potti in my cozy little home on wheels.

I’m glad I only had the small sample size!

If I had ordered one of the regular sizes of Oleato coffee… the after effects might have been comparable to prepping for a colonoscopy.

A Little Research Tells The Story…

My after effects were a bit extreme but I’m not the only one to experience a rude awakening after consuming the Oleato coffee.

My unpleasant after effect may have been intensified because I don’t typically consume much oil -or- because I don’t have a gallbladder -or- both.

Either way, I won’t be doing THAT again!

If you’ve tried Oleato coffee, what was your experience?

Oddly enough, I don’t like coffee. At all, not even the smell. I know, I am very rare. HAHA That must have been a horrible experience for you. Your writing makes me more aware of all you have to do to be careful with your allergies. Glad you survived!

That sounds very unpleasant to say the least. I have never heart of this coffee, maybe it wasn’t a success for Starbucks?
