This is not a decision that came suddenly nor one I took lightly. There’s always more to the story but here’s the gist of it…

In December 2024, I took what I thought would be a short and necessary break from blogging. I’ve shared bits-n-pieces of my struggle in previous posts but writing a blog is more work than it looks (some blogging platforms are more challenging than others). There’s more to it than putting words on a screen and hitting “publish”.

I returned in November 2025 feeling mentally ready to dive back in. But less than 2 months after getting back in the saddle… the creative energy required, the increasing complexity of the WordPress blogging platform, and the time spent fiddle-farting around with the behind the scenes stuff outweighs the joy of writing.

I’ve felt it for a while but stubbornly ignored it. Now, I accept that Simply Connie has reached her expiration date.

Rather than leave things hanging, I feel the need to make it official by writing this goodbye post.

The blog will remain online briefly before fading off into the sunset.
