Life Is Happening Fast!

All of a sudden life seems to be moving quite fast.

We’ve accepted an offer on Dad’s house and closing is expected to be the middle of October.

That means I have to skedaddle on outta here soon. I was planning on hitting the road soon anyway but now there are no if’s, and’s or but’s about it.

September Has Come And Gone

My goal for September was to take a quick road trip to get back into the swing of livin’ gypsy before jumping back into full-time van life.

That road trip never happened and I’m still trying to figure out where the heck September went!

Time To Move On

It’s hard to believe The Boyz have been gone 7 months now.

It seems like it happened just yesterday yet, at the same time, it seems like a lifetime ago.

My whole perception of time seems to be screwed up at the moment. The other day I was talking about my trip to the Florida Keys this past winter… but that trip was actually THREE winters ago!

It’s time to take the next step and get back to my own life (once I figure out what my own life is actually supposed to look like).

Making Plans (Just Kidding!)

I could sit here all day trying to come up with a plan but, in case you don’t know, I’m not keen on the whole making and following a plan thing.

It’s ironic that, in years gone by, I was the one people came to for planning and/or sticking to a schedule.

But my desire to plan, schedule and/or stick to it has escaped me over the years. It’s not how I roll anymore and I like it that way.

These days I simply make a general plan that leaves plenty of room for going with the flow.

The General Going With The Flow Plan

This week I’ll finish up some loose ends along with getting my stuff moved back into the van (Bella).

The week of October 5, if my van is ready to roll, I may head out. But we’ll have to see what transpires between now and October 5.

Regardless of what transpires over the next 2 weeks, October 12 is my official drop-dead-need-to-leave-the-house-and-get-back-to-nomadic date.

I’ve already reserved a spot at a local campground for the week of October 12. Once my week at the campground is over my plan is simply to see where the road takes me.

Final Thoughts

I’m getting excited as departure day draws near. Yes, even with all the going’s on in the world.

But I still have to face the closing of this chapter and I can’t do that until I leave.

  • Once I leave Dad’s house… that’s it.
  • Once I leave Dad’s house… this chapter is officially closed.
  • Once I leave Dad’s house… there’s no coming back to Dad’s House… ever.
Embrace each season of life

The quote photo: This is a favorite autumn picture of mine that I took on a crisp fall day at Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park located on the outskirts of of Lena Illinois.

  1. Hi Connie, sometimes things just happen for the best reasons and we may not even know what they are at the time. I’m sure you will get the last minute things done and be on your way on time. Like you said just go along with the flow.
Once behind the wheel you may be surprised how easy it comes to you about where you are heading.

    1. Thanks, Jo 😊 I agree! Everything happens for a reason. I believe things slowed down a few months back to give me time to adjust to all the major life changes. And, now, things are moving more swiftly because it’s time to move forward.
